About MCHS

Shelter

We provide care and shelter for pets on the Mendocino Coast, California. We shelter up to 600 cats and dogs a year, plus a few other pets.

We are a no-kill shelter dedicated to providing the cats and dogs in our care a good home until they find a permanent home. We try to provide our community the services they need, such as the John Oliver Low Cost SpayNeuter Clinic.

Wolf Surgery FundExercise Yard
This Fund was started in 2006. Some pets need very expensive surgeries or medical care. A Fund was established to ensure every pet, like Wolf, has the best care available. Wolf, a Siberian Husky needed a very special knee surgery. After his long recovery he found a new home in Sacramento. He is still a happy guy.

Feral Cats
MCHS provides support for the local Feral colonies. We provide the food for a Volunteer to feed the cats daily. We also spay or neuter every feral cat that can be caught at our In-House Vet Clinic.
